Creative practice
Isabella Raco is a Naarm/Melbourne-based designer and researcher, whose creative practice lies at the intersections of fashion design, sustainability, technology, and community building.
Raco’s practice started in fashion design, where human behaviour and the tensions in consumer-producer relationship inspired her sustainable practices as both a designer and consumer. These insights brought her into the world of blockchain technology as a potential tool to support sustainable practices.
The importance of thinking globally while acting locally, has shifted her role as a designer into the facilitation space. Raco has had the pleasure of co-creating community spaces to foster learning environments for upcycling workshops. The evolution of her practice now combines her fashion design skills, big-picture thinking, and natural teaching ability. Now delivering upcycling and fashion workshops to her communities.
